Anyone have such a creature?
Also, based on the fact that there are gazillions of these things in country right now, will I really be hurting the value of mine if I get it re-blued?

This may not be what you are looking for, but you can download the manual here:
Mitchell's Mauser Manual (http://www.mitchellsales.com/PDF%20Documents/M48%20Manual.pdf)

Looks like the exact same manual they sent me with my rifle ;)
Looking for something a bit more detailed instead of just the general breakdown for cleaning stuff.

Jen,
Take a run over to www.gunboards.com (http://www.gunboards.com) and go to the Mauser forum. There are, buried somewhere, links to bolt disassembly as well as general takedown information that is common to all Mausers.
Sorry that I don't have a specific link but I am late for court and don't have a chance to go over and look myself.
You will not hurt the value, in my opinion, if you reblue it. One of mine is in serious need of either a reblue or maybe a park job.

I guess the M48 is similar to the K98k, according to what I found. The M48 is a Yugo variant of the German 98k?
Here's a color diagram of the 98k, if that'll do you any good. It's a pretty nice pic.

And here's the website.

There's also a Disassembly link, with a line drawing and parts list, and detailed instructions. Also a German-English lexicon.
Whether that site is specifically what you want or not, it looks like a useful C&R link.

Thanks...that is the same one that was linked on Tuco's Mauser board.

Jen,
Buy yourself "The Mauser Bolt Actions, M91 through M98" manual by Jerry Kuhnhausen. It will show you everything you could ever want to know about Mausers.
I recommend any of his manuals. They are all top quality and VERY complete.
