View Full Version : Remarked 100?

The markings on this look a little hokey to me.

What do you think?

I wouldn't touch that with a 10 ft pole. Why take the risk when you can buy a non question one for the same amount?

Yeah I didn't know enough about it other than tampered/remarked/obliterated markings are iffy even on a good day.

Better safe than sorry.

Low S/N though-

I'll keep watching for a 100 in the $1k range for my retro collection.

i've seen them marked like this before. since they had multiple importers under multiple model names, i wouldn't be surprised if it was remarked for one reason or another.

Looks like the lower is a slightly lighter shade of anodize than the upper as well.

Notice that the take down 'button' isn't the early type that might correspond to an early serial number.

Did the K2 rifles have different serial numbering than the AR100 rifles?

Something is wrong there....the serial numbers are waaaaay too low. Too many red flags!

probably edited out. i know a lot of people do that. pic 7 shows the serial covered up.

Not uncommon to see them marked as such. Different importers' marks. Mine is marked K-2 and was imported by I. A. Co. SAC'TO, CA. 458XXX serial number. I've always assumed the AR100's were imported later, after the K2 marked imports.

It's all legit, but I wouldn't bid too much more than the current high bid. I can't see paying more than $1,100 for one in mint condition.

Looks ok. There are 3 numbers in the serial number that are blacked out. 486 is the correct serial number range for an AR 100.

Except for the ser#, mine is exactly the same. 48639* GARY N4KVE
