These 2 beauties followed me home the other day, a 57 No Dash 3T and a 29-3 3T. I was looking for stuff to re-sell, but these are on my list, and the price was right, so I think I am gonna keep em.

Very nice. Two classic pistols in fine calibers. I really like the .41's, too.

Sweet, I would like to have another .41 Mag myself. Kind of want a short Redhawk (5", 5.5"?) but I have messed around and they have gone out of my reach (like most S&Ws:(). I did blunder into an honest shooter-grade 58 a while back at a fair price (and even had the cash in my pocket:wink:). I am loading .44 mag on the Dillion currently and would be loading .41 but discovered I am missing the drop tube needed for .41. I put 30 warmish .44 rounds through a 5.5" Super Blackhawk this past Sunday and really enjoyed the buck, blast, and tight group on the target. Nothing is quite like shooting a nice group with a small hand cannon!

nice furniture on the bottom one. Prolly a good time to buy with everyone wanting mag capacity.

Why would you buy a Smith without an internal lock?

I have yet to buy any S&W with an internal lock and likely never will. Maybe the .38super N frame or the .460 I'd consider. Nice guns especially the .41magnum. I can't find a decent priced S&W .41mag so I make due with a 5.5in blued redhawk .41 and a Dan Wesson stainless .41.

I feel silly I recently passed the box for a S&W model 58 for $15 recently but it had no papers or tools. I'm not a huge fan of the 29-3's because they are not pinned and recessed nor do they have the later engineering changes to increase strength. However they have a special place in my heart as a 6" 29-3 was one of my 1st N frame S&W's if not the 1st.

Very nice indeed! The 57 is definitely a keeper. I've got a bit of a passion for the older S&W revolvers - the craftsmanship was amazing and prices seem to be going into orbit. I'm generally interested in S&W revolvers up to the point they changed the extractor (around '96) and rendered them unsuitable for serious combat. My last scores were a NIB 25-5 and a beautiful pre-Model 10 snubbie. I'm glad S&W aficionados are well represented among the FF members. Congrats KRF!

I had a model 57 in the 70's but unfortunately I blew it up with overloaded reloads. Nothing injured except my ego. Oops.
