Was at a pawn shop that I regulary buy from. Bought a DR200 from them 8 months ago and love it.

Salesman said that he had a Daewoo DR300 and a K1A1 that he expected to come out in a couple days.

I can probably only afford 1 right now.

Which one is more collectable?

Are there problems with either I should know about (I've read that the DR300 might have bolt lug problems)?

If both are the same price which one would you buy?

Thanks!!!

Since you have a Woo rifle you may as well get the K1A1 carbine

K1A1 all the way. The DR300 would most likely wind up just a wall hanger at some point.

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking. I'll let you all know if I get it.

K1A1 is a blast to shoot. Very light, compact, and it ejects the brass a mile compared with an AR. You will like it.

Stars, planets, and luck aligned today and I put both the K1a1 and the DR300 on layaway! I haven't been this excited about a purchase in a long time.

Looks nice.

Question . . . . is that a home-made/modified mag in the DR-300?

Factory mag. But they look home made for sure. I picked it up, finally, this week. While I was waiting for the background check I noticed another mag in a box of mags back in the pawn shop. I convinced them they should give it to me with the gun. Now I have a 30 and a 10 round mag. I'm taking it out to shoot tomorrow.

OK here ya go. It was pretty windy out there so the audio is hard to hear. I'll write up more first impressions when I have more time.

Make sure you check the bolt lugs carefully on that DR300 for signs of stretching or cracks!

So far so good. Right now the rifle looks new inside.

How many bolts really go bad? From my search on the web I have yet to read a first person account of a bolt breaking. Although, I did read one or two cases of someone buying a gun with a broken bolt.

Who knows. Maybe it's not a huge issue but I've seen at least 2 different parts rifles for sale on Gunbroker over the years that had the bolt lug failure. That about the same number of functioning DR300s I've seen for sale! Rare rifles, indeed.

These folks claim to have personal experience but I've never seen the details from anyone who had this happen.

I hope your rifle stays intact. It's a rare one.

I had heard that the 300 had issues. I wonder if judicious choice of ammo would help? Has to be a pressure issu, no? Don
