How do you get a cheek weld with out getting boinked in the face? Nice and light with lots of recoil. Will the vz style brake help?

Suppose everyone is diff but I just shoot it like other (similar AK type) folders and it's fine.. Recoil on the VZ-58 is very mild IMO and cuases me no discomfort at all...

Even shot a 3-Gun match with mine and had a blast..

Chinese chest pouch?
What a lot of guys have done is to get some pipe insulation, the foam rubber type, slip it on and secure it with electrical tape. I tried the military folder, found it to be "less than comfortable", and went to the FAB/Zahal folder with rising cheek piece. That one is great, and the cheek piece means I can adjust for optics or irons as need be.

I've seen para-cord wrapped stocks OR leather tourniquets used on folding stocks

OT but i have to ask: Dynomike, where did you get wood furniture for the vz?

You dont get a cheek weld but a chin weld will do. It's a fun gun and very light and handy. The grip is child sized, the czech communists must have had very tiny hands.

It would make a good truck gun for those times when rioters are pulling people out of their cars at traffic lights.

YES, it is a Chi-nee chest pouch, works great too...

I've already Para Cord wrapped two AK stocks and am quite pleased with the results.. I may do this one a swell since I bought plenty of cord..

Furniture is NOS CZECH wood and not easy to come by. This came from a bud who bought several of the CZECH armorer crates.. I don't like the stock on these guns (wood or bake lite stocks) and even though the folder is short it's still more comfy for me..

I have wood furniture on my vz. I bought a kit from clearview investments and switched out the bakelite stuff. Kit was almost like new for $179. Worth that for the wood and now have a complete set of spares.

Here is a link to their kits: http://www.clearviewinvest.com/partskits.aspx
Prices went up about $100 since last year though.
