I just got off the phone with an uncle who told me he is going to give me an H&R 923 .22 revolver that belonged to my grandfather (died in 1961). I never knew the pistol existed until tonight. He said it has a 6" bbl., is nickeled(or chromed), and has a pull-pin 9 shot cylinder. Also has large brown plastic grips. SN-K2xxx. This is like Christmas morning for me just for sentimental reasons. Can anybody give me any info on this pistol? I know it's an inexpensive piece, but that doesn't matter. It will be a treasure to me.

Treasure it for it's family ties.
Don't shoot it too much.
The old H & Rs usually won't hold up for heavy use.

Buy some modern .22 revolver or pistol you like and start your own memories with that.

Oh, I know. It's going in the safe. I've got the Ruger Single Six and the Buckmark for shooting .22's. This will give me a pistol and a shotgun from each grandfather. The other grandsons don't give a rat's ass about anything except what they could hock it for. This way, my uncle knows where the pistol will be, at least until I die. I am blessed.
