Whitney had incredible talent. Dolly's song sang by Whitney is and remains awesome. And everybody else, you are immeasurable assholes! Rot and infest your hatred in hell!

Lighten up, Francis.

Jaxxas, I am certainly in agreement she had MEGA talent and some of her songs will always be played with reverence.

It's not really hatred for her that makes people joke about how extremely unhealthy habits hasten one's demise. It could very well be hatred for the wasted life caused by drug abuse.

Talented crackheads are still crackheads, and they often die as crackheads. That's why, despite the fact that he's a screaming pinko commie, I have a bit more respect for Steve Earle.

like "Princess Di", there goest another crack whore. Sic Semper Crackwhorius?

perhaps it is the way she squandered her talent on self-destructive behavior that makes people like me more disgusted than saddened.

the same ilk that constantly reminds their audience of Rush's previous and to the best of my knowledge, cured addiction to a valid pain medication will make Houston out as an icon. and Jersey flies the flag at half mast. sick.

Sorry, don't take me too literally. I see it more as a generic term for drug addict. Don't see the point in breaking it down. Now some conspiracists would say the syringe of "a drug cocktail" found in the car was from her assassination by MI5, and at this point, I wouldn't be surprised by that either.

I've come to think of ripping on someone who passes away in an unseemly manner to be rather low brow. There have been some here that passed away under less than ideal conditions lately. I wonder how some of you would like it if their death was used as the butt of jokes? I know a bunch of you sissies would get your panties in a wad if someone was joking about them in the same way......

Uh..okay. Usually, you say exactly what you mean.No sugar coating.

Crack whore isn't exactly sugar-coating.

Maybe "self-induced reality obfuscation?"

Really, if I call someone a crack whore and it turns out it wasn't crack, but crystal meth, does it change anything?

And by the way, I fully support the right of every free man (or woman) to ruin their lives with drugs. So long as I don't have to pay their medical bills.

BTW, I understood the crash in which Princess Diana died was drug related. I apologize if I am incorrect.

Never heard of her being a child molester or murderer. It's stupid to do drugs but most of us have done stupid things. Making fun of her death is low budget. Just my opinion....Falme away..........

I guess Jaxxas is gonna hate me forever now........

-I found an old black bag full of drugs floating in a bath yesterday. I called an ambulance, but Whitney was dead by the time they arrived.

-When the paramedics arrived they said "Its Houston we have a problem".

-Nintendo are releasing a new game based on the lives of Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston. It's called WiiHab.

-What was Whitney Houston doing in the bath tub? Washing her crack.

-Large amount of prescription drugs found in Whitney's room... I bet Jacko's doctor is shitting himself.

-What's the difference between Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse? 204 days.

-What's the difference between Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson? One was a crackhead and one fucked little boys.

-What's black, lies on the floor 'Will Always Love You' and has white stuff around its nose? A border collie.

-Whitney Houston has now been drug free for at least one day.

-Whitney Houston ended her life the same way she ended her songs. On a high note.

I'm pretty sure that Di's crash wasn't drug related: 1) neither she nor her beau (heir to the Harrod's Dept Store owner/fortune) were driving - they had a chauffeur, and 2) it appears to some that paparazzi chasing them (or MI5 if you like conspiracies) 'forced' them into a concrete center-post in a tunnel.

I don't care either way: we seem to de-legitimize other people's versions of recreation (booze is fine, but coke is bad, or, alternately, smoking dope is fine, but meth is evil) while defending our own. She could have been free-basing for all I care. But I doubt she was.

I think Mark's comment was more in the vein of both Di and Whitney were alternately attention whores and then deeply troubled individuals who played whichever role suited them at the time.

Di was addicted to 'new age' treatments such as colonic irrigation and was bulimic whereas Whitney was addicted to drugs.

I think we have a kind of sad society where celebs are elevated to levels they should never have been lifted to and yet many forget those who truly should be remembered.

Her chauffeur was drunk and had the presence of anti depressants in his system this might be what GP was referring to. And her beaus future was tied to the Hotel Ritz not Harrods.

Actually, Dodi Fayed's father, Mohamed Al-Fayed owned Harrods at the time of his son's death so the original statement is correct. Al-Fayed purchased the Hotel Ritz in Paris in 1979 but his major purchase was Harrods which he recently sold for $2.35 billion. He also owns Fulham football club and several other enterprises.

Dodi was a successful film producer in his own right as he was the executive producer on Chariots of Fire, F/X, F/X2, Hook and several other movies so he was no slouch.

And with all due respect, I think GP was referring to the insatiable desire Diana had to be adored by the press while at the same time attempting to give the impression she hated their attention. Difficult to explain to those who didn't live with the whole Diana obsession in the UK press. Kind of like trying to explain why Obama is such a crap president to a UK resident who only sees a very, very small fraction of the shenanigans that 'The One' and Moochelle get up to.

An oxymoron, considering the source!

No - it is a clever wording that means whatever one wants it to mean.

"With all due respect" makes could mean "and since there is no respect due, you get none" or "you are due great respect but I disagree with you".

Kindof like my "I'll give your comments the attention they deserve" as I slip it into the waste basket.

I had understood that the crash and deaths were directly related to drug abuse. I got my facts wrong and I apologize for maligning Diana on this issue. I still don't understand the whole "royalty thing" (insert Holy Grail skit here), and thanks Gman for giving me an out, but when I'm wrong I'm wrong, and there's no point in equivocating.

Yeah, but it's clear ya got a double standard, since I didn't see a self-cudgeling.

It woulda been only fair, ya know.
