If you have a spare 1 1/2 hours, you might find this interesting. This was filmed in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, in 2010. It follows Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment.

Thanks for the heads up. Do you know of any other good Afghanistan-related documentaries?

Thanks for the heads up. Do you know of any other good Afghanistan-related documentaries? This NatGeo documentary about the Taliban is from 2007 and it gives a decent overview of its history. There is some occasional silliness, such as when the narrator states the date of 1973 while a photo is displayed of JFK meeting Afghanistan's then-king Mohammed Zahir Shah.

"Restrepo" is a more recent documentary, and it is focused on the experiences of just a few US soldiers in Afghanistan.

1/6 is one of the most battle-hardened units in the USMC. 3 combat tours in 3 years. I got to know a few of the dudes in that unit and they know what the fukc they're doing.
