I bought a vz2008 CAI gun with the bakelite furniture. I just bought a kit from clearview with folding stock and wood furniture. I replaced the bakelite stuff with wood and folder. Looks really cool. My bayonet has the bakelite handle. Was wondering if there are any bayos with wood instead of the bakelite? I have never seen one, but would think that there must be some out there since they made the guns with the wood. Anybody have any ideas or know where to get one?

Hmm, CzechpointUSA is the source of all vz-58 parts. They will not service Centyr rifles, but they have everything else you could possibly want, including your bayonets, but the ones I see seem to have the same beaver vomit handles. Here's alink to the new unissued surplus bayonets - wouldn't be too hard to find someone who could whittle up some nice scales for it.

there are wood bayonets. I got my bayonet and wood stock in an armorers kit I bought about 4 years ago.

Very nice! We have a few members at czfirearms.us who make vz-58 furniture, and one might be able to replicate the bayonet scales as well.

Early VZ-58 bayonets had the wood grips. They turn up periodically, so just keep an eye out on eBay and the like. I have yet to see a bayonet with homemade grip scales that didn't look homemade. Your time is much better spent looking for the real deal.

Pics of my VZ2008 with wood and folder added. Still looking for a wood handled bayo.
