yea i guess i did.... i had uploaded a bunch of pics from my wifes i phone and i guess to get the lighting right i had turned the phone all sorts of ways. i didnt think about it until i posted several images and they were upside down or verticle so i went through the photobucket album rotating them and i guess i mirrored some of them. not very expierenced with these hosting sites. i just noticed that my stock is folded the wrong way and my script on the gun is backwards. lol but you get the idea

With help from Stormwerkz and S0b3, my DR is starting on that long trip towards perfection. As I mentioned in my earlier thread I pulled the EMOD off my AR15 and put it on the DR200:

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR22.jpg
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR21.jpg
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR24.jpg

These look like factory parts... the Stormwerkz adapter and S0b3 pistol grip close-up:
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR26.jpg
http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR27.jpg

The problem with adding "tactical" stocks to these rifles is that most such stocks have a sling loop on the very top, whereas the DR200 barrel swivel is oriented downward. This also prevents adapting different furniture to the barrel assembly. I rectified this with a pair of pliers and a punch, and then messed around with an extra set of TAPCO plastic FAL furniture. After I put it on, I remembered why I returned the first set that I bought for my FAL - these things look great but have terrible interior clearance. They don't align properly on the FAL, and on the DR200 they hit the top of the gas tube.

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR25.jpg

Still, the guards look good and I think I can mod them to fit properly. The Daewoo furniture screw fits and holds them on up front, and they fit like a factory part at the gas block:

http://i1104.photobucket.com/albums/h322/Tandberg/DR28.jpg

Next up: I send the upper to Moses for a barrel conversion, and I figure out once and for all what I'm going to do with this forend furniture. The Stormwerkz handguard is looking better by the day.

Also, I have to figure out what optics I'm going to add, if any. Suggestions are welcome.

StormWerkz railed handguard, type 2 stock adapter, 90 deg selector, s0b3 standard grip, Trijicon optic, Magpul AFG, Moe stock and Magpul magazine
The handguards were a long time coming, I had them planned a couple years ago but until I got a press brake it wasn't worth trying to turn them out, still a lot of time involved in making them but I do it for the Woosters :)

i haven't done my woos but thinning model paint down and using a tiny paintbrush works great. basically you want the paint really thin and when you touch the stamping for the paint to flow from the brush to the receiver.

Ellis
February 11, 2012, 10:04
Deadly accurate on iron sights, right out of the box. The piston system means no DI to soot up the bolt and carrier. Easy to tear down, once you know to flick a semi-hidden lever on the receiver latch. Cleaning is amazingly simple, on par with an AK. Some great vendors making replacement and upgrade parts now so theres absolutely no need to avoid having a Daewoo.

jjjxlr8
February 11, 2012, 11:00
Ellis is talking about the K2. The K1A1 has a DI system just like an AR15.

Ellis
February 11, 2012, 11:28
True. I always forget that.

JohnnyMac
February 11, 2012, 11:44
It just barley touches in one tiny spot on each side.

What kind of accuracy are you guys getting? The best I have been getting is 2moa with 75 grain ammo.

IIRC, don't the 'Woos have a relatively slow 1-in-12" twist? If so, it might be too slow to stabilize the longer 75 gr bullets. How does it perform with 55 gr ammo?

JMc

jjjxlr8
February 11, 2012, 14:15
Yes, early ones had 1:12 twist rates. Later models of the K2 had a faster rate, something bewteen 1:8 and 1:9, I think. Mine work great with 55 gr. Very accurate, especially the K2. The K1A1, since it's close quarters weapon, has poor sights for accurate shooting at longer distances. The rear peep hole has two settings - Huge and HUGE.

The 62 gr. bullets don't shoot as well as the 55s. I stick to the 55 gr. bullets as they work best with the 1:12 twist. I would never expect anything longer than 62gr. to work so well but I've never tried.

Blain
February 21, 2012, 16:52
The S0b3 grip won't fit the K2, eh?

moses
February 21, 2012, 21:02
No they are totally different animals.

But the K2 doesn't need a US grip unless you have a messed up one and are just looking for a replacement.

Also I have found that the Hornady 55 gr FMJ bullets are very accurate in the K2 or the DR-200 with 24 grs of varget powder.

The Hornady 55 gr bullets are the most accurate 223 bullets I have found.
I have tried Sierra MK 68, 75 and 77 gr bullets and the 55 gr hornady's perform slightly better to significantly better than all the others mentioned, at least in group size.

February 22, 2012, 14:52

OK MY TURN!!! I wanna PLAY! ;)

Well I agreed to purchase this rifle from a guy here locally, as he described it, I misunderstood (Assumed...and yeah I am the A$$) anyway, he said it had an ACE stock......I assumed it was the SKELETON......well as you can tell it isn't...BUT it is an ACE.....I kinda like it BUT I think I would perfer the SKELETON, I will decide that later! In the mean time in the VERY VERY near future it will be making a journey to MOSES to have him do a lil barrel work and FH addition to the rifle!

As you can see I did add a lil detail to the receiver, still needs a lil clean up but you get the pic.......Stormwerkz top rail will be holding an Eo-Tech in a couple hours just haven't mounted it yet!

May add a folder and take the faux flash hider off, do you have to cut them off? I didn't have to do anything to get the FAL HG on, just remove the sling thing. The threaded pin that holds the barrel on is 10x32. I filled the holes on the top of the receiver with 10x32 3/16" screws.

The Daewoo extend back over the receiver while the FAL do not. See the extended circular section at the rear of the FAL handguards, you can see the same shape up inside the Daewoo guards, that is the part that fits into the recess at the front of the receiver.

DR200 I picked up on one of our local forums. StormWerkz stock adapter and Low profile mount, SOB3 grip, VLTOR stock and tube, POF 5.56 Flash hider kit. Prolly gonna have the barrel taken shorter, 90 degree safety lever and still tryin to figure what I wanna do for optics. May do mid range scope since I already have red dots and long range optics on various other .223/5.56 packages.

Woo Hoo! Kudo's to you both on an excellent job. She sure is a sexy piece of work. I have a unmolested K2 in the 438XXX range, wish I had the dough to employ moses for some handy work on mine. Think I'd like to fit mine with the same stock and some FNC handguards. When ya gonna feed her and heat things up?:beer::beer::beer:

THANKS!
The rifle is so much diff now it's not even close to what I started with.
I know some took exception to me cutting a perfect/original WOO barrel down but to me it was not an issue. What I ended up with is simply a better rifle all around so I'm glad I did the conversion and had the barrel work done.

Next day off that I can get to the range is Thursday so I'll be heating her up then fer sher.
As far as the H/G's I DO like the FNC H/G's and have given that some thought? Don't think I'll do the FAL H/G thing, it looks OK I guess but I actually like the H/G's that are on the rifle so for now anyway I'm gonna leave it as is.:beer:

LaC, Dyno's barrel is 16.1" and 17.7" with Hurricane attached.

The woo really does feel, balance, handle and look better IMHO with a 16.1 barrel.
