View Full Version : Front sight point on the ring

What is the point at the top of the dr 200 front sight ring all about?
Is that for looking over the weapon for close in range?
Just wondering. I figure it has some sort of function
Does any body know

On the commercial rifles the point is a remnant of the casting for the front sight block

On machine guns, including the post-samples I've seen, there is a tritium vial pressed into a vented hole in that peak and a flip up huge ghost ring peep on the rear sight which folds forward. Hope this helped.

yea it helps thank you!! i was wondering if i had asked a stupid question with all the reads and no response. i think it would work as a close quarters point sight within 25 yards. i will try it out on my next range visit.
