In uniform....on the job......yeah....great work if you can get it.....

Oh, also in New Mexico, so the group of Filers that I've read about here should be on the inside track of this.....

http://www.kob.com/article/stories/S2261131.shtml?cat=500

All in a day's work....protecting and serving.....someone or something....

Listen to the report and back-pedaling, circling the wagons, not disclosing info or job shift lists, nothing......just SOP for when the pig gets caught....

Disgusting.....

As long as it was consensual, and only the camera caught it, no problem for me. Is this on private property?

When the truth comes out it is probably some horny nymph that likes guys in uniform.

Good for him.

The officer (assuming he is on duty) is paid by the tax payers

Dept is very hush hush about it so likely he was on duty.

It all could be a big misunderstanding. The officer was just conducting a thorough interrogation of a suspect. This included a body cavity search. The only proper "tool" he had for the job was...

Guy made a decision. If he's married, it ain't a good one. If not, maybe he's willing to pay the price.

The sickening thing is that the agency is protecting this type of behavior.

Anyone wonder if she's even 18? I'm betting against it - and that is probably the reason for the hush-hush.

What? You think this si the first time this has happened? Or the first time a department has tried to hush it up. Or that only cops screw on the job.? Nothing new to see here

It was probably his lunch break. Still not a good decision to be doing that during work time. I bet not his wife if he is/was married.

"adjacent public property" suggests he was on private property. And it looks like a POV, although it could be his duty vehicle.

I am less concerned with some joker getting some when it was presented then I would be if it was quid pro quo.

Or, it could be her vehicle.

If I want a quickie over a break I do it in private. On private property does not necessarily equate to not visible to the public.

I agree that it is a bigger concern if the officer was "serviced" because he threatened a criminal complaint against the performer.

Actually it was on public property according to the latest update. Besides the obvious issues of whether he was on duty or married I'm interested to see if they are both charged with public indecency, tresspassing or something like that. After all, if two non-cops were caught by a surveillance camera doing the same thing you can bet your bottom dollar that all kinds of charges would be forthcoming.

KOB has blurred out the woman's image, but you can see it's during daylight hours and the officer is still wearing his utility belt.

You guys can split hairs but were I his supervisor, the only thing I would write on his pink slip would be:

"Officer lacks good judgment and common sense and has caused the rest of us no end of negative waves from our own home and from John Q. Public. Bye."

Oh, I'm not disputing that he should be fired for piss-poor judgment and conduct unbecoming.

I just don't see a need for criminal charges unless it can be demonstrated he was accepting sexual favors in exchange for not arresting someone.

THAT is one of the questions that need to be answered.

ALSO:
WHO were the people involved?
WHAT was the nature of the relationship, if any, before this incident?
Was this some kind of pay-off for influence or looking the other way, or ignoring something?
WAS HE ON DUTY? No matter if they were boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife, goodbye then. Absolutely bereft of any kind of common sense.

He WAS in uniform...that would be prima facie evidence that he was somehow involved in official business directly before (or during!) this encounter.

This is where the "cops are always on duty" comes back to bite them in the ass.

We had a cop killed in a car accident on his way to work.

Since it was not a death in the execution of his duties, his wife was not entitled to department death benefits.

The police union fought for, and won, death benefits, based on the stipulation that a cop is ALWAYS on duty.

Fine - that means they can NEVER drink alcohol or behave in a manner that would bring discredit on the uniform . . .

The little dog running around between the officer's legs while he's "on the job" is what makes these photos really funny.

I'd like to see more pictures of the female in the incident, she looks pretty well endowed as well as somewhat attractively shaped...

The dog is there to lick up any drippin's!

One could argue that they are not, as off duty they still are afforded various special rights that non-cops cannot have.

A local suburban PD around here just let go the chief after he was caught boning the department's legal "liaison" by some junior officers. Of course, it took months and a lawsuit by the chief to try to keep the details a secret.

No one has been charged with a crime in connection with the incident, which apparently was only witnessed by a Chihuahua at the scene before a county employee spotted the images of the officer and the woman,

Just looked at the newscast video.

So, the "lady" is wearing ballet slippers???

Really?.... ballet slippers???

And they don't know who the "cop" is yet?

Is there ANY corroborating evidence that this actually was a real cop?

Broad daylight, on the hood of a car, in front of a surveillance camera, with utility belt and ballet slippers.

Until I see better evidence...

If this stuff is true, it sounds like this particular officer has a history of questionable judgement.

Where was the questionable judgement? I read that article and the only thing is the arrest of the lawyer (which is not necessarly a bad thing) the article also says he works nights so if that was during daylight maybe he was getting a little something to help him sleep

I love the typical "not disclosing the name of the officer" BS.

It's just too much to ask, evidently.

Yeah, having sex on public property in full view of anyone who might wander onto the property isn't questionable judgement at all....

He should have just done it in the car on the side of the road like everyone else. Right?

I've worked for private companies in the past that were very strict about what you did in your off time if you were in a company vehicle/uniform.

When you wear a uniform, you are representing that entity-whether it be the Corps,police,UPS,etc...

He should be fired,imo.

Wow, it must be serious. The guy got fired on Friday. It makes me wonder who's daughter he was boning.

Officer Bert Lopez fired because of video coverage. (http://www.santafenewmexican.com/Local%20News/State-police-fire-cop-in-sex-tape)

And yes, the officer was fired because he brought national media attention onto himself. Lots of officers get action on duty because of their status, but there isn't always a nice video of it.
