I have heard rumors in the past that someone successfully made AMT magazines from M14 mags. I don't know how well they worked.
Attached are some pictures of one that I boosted from Gbroker.
Hopefully some enterprising individual can come up with the dimensions for the front and rear lugs.

I looked at all the .308 mags that are out there only the M-14 mags are close and their still .265" short of filling the magwell it will need lugs front and rear of at least .250. Then we have to overcome the geometry of the different feed angles and the mag follower. Follower change and maybe the front lug go to the top of the mag and be shaped like a feedramp.
what'ya think.

The original SIG AMT mags were the same size, front to back, as the StGw-57 mags in 7.5x55mm M11 (the StGw-57 mags will fit in the AMT, and, depending on the follower, will work in the AMT as well). The SIG AMT (and SIG 510-4) mags have an internal spacer to take up the extra room (over the 2.800" needed for 7.62mm NATO M80 type ammunition) compared to the StGw-57 mag.

Most mags designed for the 2.800" length of the 7.62mm NATO cartridge will be too short, front to back, in the AMT magwell...

Probably not any earthshakenly new info, but there it is anyway... :)

While we did entertain the M-14 mags we also looked at making complete new ones. Cost should be about the same as an unissued GI M-14 mag.

What 308 AR mags are we talking about?

My 308 ARs use mags that are identical to FAL mags because they are FAL mags... :)

Just sayin'...
