That's a sturdy feller who shoots his .50 offhand.

Ant size person can fire it once offhand.

Well, I wasn't planning on this thread degrading into a dick measuring contest, but I have no trouble running that 50 through a mag off the shoulder. I'll post a vid shortly.

Here's the end of a 250 round belt from my MG42. It weighs 25.5 pounds with the bipod, no belt. The Serbu is 24.5 empty.

I just talked to Mark Serbu on Tuesday and he said a few of his semi's were out now. MSRP is around $6500 but i'm betting it could be had for a little less. I hear it's more accurate than the Barrett and a couple grand cheaper. I'm sure Barrett would argue the accuracy claim. I would love to see the two weapons go head to head in some testing.

Tony, great to hear from you again. You did some work for me a few years back. When I saw that Tromix shirt on SOG, I knew it was you before they mentioned your name.

Take care,

Nice rifle!!!
This is great news. I've been slowly saving up for a sa 50, and this looks like it might be in range. I for one will prolly always use the bi-pod or a nylon sling suspended between two points
What are you using for glass???

I can't hold it like that all day, but in the hands of a dertermined man, ten rounds can be fired off hand.

I'm waiting on dies and bullets to arrive in order to test it with some decent ammo on paper. I could shoot some groups with surplus ball today, but that's not much of an accuracy test.

You would not believe how smooth the bolt is when you charge it back and forth. It feels like it's on roller bearings or something. I can't recall any gun, of any type, having a smoother action than this Serbu.
