BOHICA, on a Doublestar AR15 lower.

http://montanaraiders.com/images/guns/50bmg.JPG

Just wearing a Bushnell Elite scope, but it's held up to about a 120 rounds thus far, so well worth it.

Plumb tickled over it, got a bunch of the Brazilian ball that AIM had and some of the old Summit reman French stuff before it dried up, so nothing I shoot it costing me over $2 a pop  More accurate with ball/bulk ammunition than I expected, about 2" at 200 yards. Some reman API didn't do too hot, about 2-2.5" at 100 yards.

After sighting in the first "target" was a chunk of steel. A HARD steel plate that the railroad uses as a buffer between the rail and the ties? About 3/4" thick.

Just dimpled it with ball ammo, didn't even dish it. Tried some API, nice flash, and made a gouge, but still didn't go through. Now THAT amazed me.

That sucker is huge! I bet a full blown gun room is a must to be able to store something that big!

mine is an Anzio-50.

currently working up loads with 650 grain lehigh bullets with WC860 powder. getting it around in inch center to center with PMJ brass and 215 grains of powder. it shoots factory match accurately, but those bad boys cost 6 bucks a pop, not including shipping. the lehigh bullets cost 1.20 apiece. just trying to get costs down while retaining the good accuracy.

so far the pulled military bullets (API and tracers) SUCK in the accuracy dept.... they all shoot 3-4 MOA...

here is a range shot:

this one was taken while the wife and i were out camping this spring. did some long-range shooting out there:

Is that a SS siting on top the Anzio ?

yeah, the 16X model.

works pretty good, although the elevation turret was pretty stiff in the cold weather. had to put my hands over the turret to warm it up enough to adjust for distance.

my luppy Mk4 4.5-14 is a lot better piece of glass, but its riding on top of my LR-308.

the SS works fine for my use. it is tough and the turrets to return to zero just fine after shooting at 1000 yrds.

The SS 16x is a great scope - took it off my Maddi and put it on a lower caliber rifle - my 82 has a Swar scope - would LOVE to replace it with a Nightforce but don't have the jing.

Here's my Barrett M90A1. It was the successor to the M90 and the predecessor of the M95. There are only five of these in civilian hands, the balance of the 33 or so ever made having been sent to the SEALs. This is the real "Navy" model. It is equipped with the original Barrett/Swarovski, 1,800 meter ladder reticled, 10X scope.

My thought was that I could go through 5 SS's before I go through 1 Nightforce. I'm on SS #2 through no fault of the scope's. Here's a pic of #1:

Deltaten's Tikka T3 blew up while he was working up loads. A chunk of his receiver went through my scope. All is well, no one hurt.
