I like the look of the Ironwood furniture and want to order some. They claim it resembles early G prefix FAL's. What other changes would need to be made to mimic a "G" series FAL, with the M-444 as a starting point?

Early US models used the humpback Type C stock w/ the metal ferrule, a plastic PG, and wooden HG. It used the long T-48 style FH, so the DSA 'faux-Browning' is a good replacement. Use a Type 1 receiver.

The 1974 re-design used plastic furniture a-la M-444, no bipod-cut on the HG, They use the Belgian combo device, so a Hesse or Moses MB is best. Some Type 2 receivers, and 2000 type 3.

Lets' not forget the plastic PG, metal HGs and bipod option. :D

Lets not forget the even more rare "G" series furniture combo of wood stock, plastic PG and the funny light grey/blue plastic forearm.
I have only seen three "G" series with this combo in person, mine,a collector/friend and one at a show.

Yeah, I don't have sufficient references or expertise to ID all the G/GL rifles. It's why I'm here!

THANKS for the update-
