Custom MAXll w/ carbine barrel

I was over to my brothers today and took some pictures of a barrel job I did for him back in the early 90's. The barrel on this gun is 416 match grade stainless that I hot blued at the time. The barrel features fins cut all the way back over the chamber and the gas system was shortens a couple of inches. The piston was cut from the rod and made into a short stroke system. It now fuctions fine on the Small gas port as the "normal" position. He had me put on a green laser and it sports a Cabela's 223 Comp Scope. The barrel has my custom 360 sling swivel that utilizes a SMLE foward barrel band threaded for a williams swivel stud. the swivel stud holds a ball bearing just inside the barrel ID for which I cut a single radius groove all the way around the barrel as a track for the bearing. This makes for a real slick 360 spin swivel. Bad thing is the laser is in the way on the left side of the barrel so a solid stud was mounted to the bayo lug.
