im looking at getting some magazines listed in poor condition and refinishing and rebuilding the guts. Its this worth my time or shoulf i pass it up. suggestions?

As long as the mag body and springs are serviceable I say go for it. I have bought and refinished mags before, both for the AK and the FAL.

Not everyone has been able to horde away 50 - 100 mags or is able to buy mags in packs of 10 at a time the way most of the guys on this board seem to... :sad:

DSA sells springs for $1 if you buy 5 or more.

Find some US baseplates and followers and you have 2 922 parts.

Make the base plate, if you're handy with sheet metal.

Falcon Arms has rebuild kits for $7.50; spring, follower, and US base plate.


As has been said, depends on the price.

I got a few mags at knob creek that I am going to try to refinish, going to swap base plate and keep spring and follower, then park,

The box full I bought were from
new to rusted that will need blasting
when done I will have less than 10 dollars in each
