View Full Version : Sig 556 Good As The SCAR?

Couple of buddies have the SIG 556 . Both are very good rifles as far as accuracy and reliability. I can find no glowing flaw in this rifle so why did the SCAR get the ok from Department of Defense and not the 556. Even the ACR is showing up in use from what I understand and that thing just doesn't balance right. So what is the problem with the SIG?

I don't think it even made the testing. Whether that was for political reasons or something else I don't know.

The SCAR came in 2nd place.

Maybe that FN already had full production facilities running in the US made it better and the MRBF/MRBS was close enough - a quarter of the M4 MRBS.

The 556 hasnt been submitted to any government tests as far as I know. That is sigs choice, not the governments.

Also, I have a 556 that I absolutely love, but the quality control from sig is not on par with what I think would be expected from a government contract.
