I wasn't indicating it was ever a good idea, far from it. Just pointing out how we got to where we are currently. Unfortunately most peoples' nationalistic egos require repeating this over and over, so long as their party is running the show anyway.

And on that very topic, I thought I'd remind the Republican lovers that gates posted over in Econ to let everyone know that a certain party just filibustered the full disclosure of campaign contributions - shut it down.

It was the Republicans.


So the 'R's could sweep the House back, and I wonder exactly what is going to change? Bush started TARP, and R candidates are taking Wall St. money for their campaigns.
