In case anyone forgot it, there is a lottery for a "green card" run by the US Gov't. Any non citizen can take the test to see if they can enter the lottery. Terrorists included.

I just applied for it and they said I was not eligible.

For the Spouse, Mother and Fathers birth country, the USA was not an option.

this is not that.

the lottery system has been going on for a long time. i guess some folks think that ALL immigrants should be banned from moving to the US starting on the path to become a US citizen.

why?

i really don't get it.

If you got skills (and/or money), you're welcome to come over. The ability to do a crappy job at hanging drywall, picking lettuce, and cooking refried beans aren't the skills I mean, either.

I had 7 or 8 Spanish speaking people who worked on my roof after KATRINA, the work they did was really bad. They had no idea what they were doing, missed the rafter with almost all the nails re sheeting. Destroyed all the good fascia and soffet , forgot to install the vent for our furnish,the fumes nearly killed us. It gos on and on, I FIRED THEM ALL Filed a law suit against the company 4 years ago,still in court, nothing will be done to them.

300 million next door neighbors ain't enough? This country is long past "full". The people they are letting in help themselves to a 21st century infrastructure they neither built,paid for,or earned. Schools for example.
As far as green cards go,no,they do not do a thorough enough examination of each recipient. They also need to ditch the E5B visas and start squeezing those people for back taxes. Either tax everyone or tax no one.
