Yeah, right. We heard this shizz before. Remember the "Contract with America"? They walked out on that like a vacation home sub prime when the balloon payment came due. I hope like hell they ain't thinking people are in love with them, they need reminding that right now we are just trying to ditch the "other half" of the washington party. And I just can't wait for the horrors about to surface in the demos lame duck session. Wish we could holiday the whole stinking bunch till January. Then limit them to two ten day sessions a year from now on. One of which would be to declare various and sundry "National Cornpone Week" and other vital pieces of fluff.

Nationally, the GOP will get my vote.

Locally? Not a chance.

Our AG candidate is infamous gun-hater RINO the former Sen. Mike DeWine - who wouldn't even get my vote if he has to run for dog catcher to try to regain public office.

Our current Dem Gov., while in the pocket of unions, is far more pro-gun than the RINO in the race, John Kasich, who was also a Wall Street and media whore after he left office.

My first votes for Democrats - EVER. I figure I will reward them if they drop their opposition to the 2nd amendment and both are significantly stronger supporters of RKBA. We have a RINO problem here in OH and need to cull the herd.

I heard one of the pledges is a recall of every program over 100mil to be recertified for funding allocation, no funding no expanded beaurocracy but government layoffs and down sizing.
I don't think this means a complete overhaul but it is a start in the right direction.
I'll take the least I can get and then ask for more of less from the conservatives,,, we need jobs not government programs..

What we need in washington is a crew of adepts that will approach the problem like taking over the management of a company in receivership. Which, in fact, we are. Dismantle the superfluous, trim everywhere, identify essential functions and put the right people in charge of those with a drop dead date to make 'em work or be replaced themselves. We honestly have about 85% more government at the fed level than what we need, and about 75% more than we can afford.

Dilute the power base with fresh minds.

Vote best you can discern, y'all.

Think before you vote this time, OK?

Perhaps the best vote for the country would be an even party divide of the Congress 50/50%. The Dems and Reps would hate each other, distrust each other and do everything to obstruct each other. Their only mutual agreement would be their distain for the White House resident who returns the favor. Nothing would be accomplished, gridlock rules, the government shuts down. The country is saved.

You are corrrect. The cry to can all the incumbents is lunacy too. Our Government
is way too complicated at this point for an overnite paradigm shift. It will take
total determination and focus on our parts to make it effective, but the pain will
be felt by everyone but the top 3 to 5% who will watch and wait for the outcomes.
Many on the dole during Clinton were cut loose after 2years because of the Contract
with America. Europe is where we should be paying close attention, their system
is gridlocked with a 'Coalition' type goverment system where it's been to diluted
to a socialist nightmare and no one could ever restore any conservative sanity there
without a major shoot out, but most there have been disarmed.

That 50/50 split would not undo the stupidity of the last 3-4 years. I like it when they are gridlocked and can't pass anything too but we can't afford a 50/50 House and Senate right now as something has got to be done to reverse the course. 2-4 Years on our current coarse will be our undoing.

Unfortunately, there are no alternatives, this pledge is the best thing going right now. They had better follow through with it or the liberals will be back in a few years and the decline will hasten.

The media is already waging war against this pledge as is the President. The goal this November is to remove the liberal majorities so let us not get side- tracked.

I have a conservative democrat up for reelection in my state, he is pro gun but he votes for and enables Nancy Pelosi who is the antithesis of everything I believe in, therefore he has got to go. A Republican pledge to reverse Obamacare and Obamanomics can only help even if it simply stops what is happening now.

Whenever there is a chance to bash the Republicans, some of us are all over it.

No wonder liberalism/socialism continues to advance in this country. You all are too busy eating your own.

LHaney, you are correct...The Repulicans Pledge is not perfect and certainly is not hardcore enough. So, let's trash them and really teach them a lesson. Don't worry, Nancy,Harry and Barry will appreciate the help in staying in power.

It's ugly and messy, but success in a representative republic is always going to be SUCCESS OF THE POSSIBLE ; not SUCCESS OF THE PERFECT.

Just make them conform to the constitution. That will take care of pretty much all of it. If they do anything in office that is anti constitutional. Treat them as the traitor they are. They swore an oath to it to take office. If they can't read, don't read or don't care about supporting and defending the constitution. A rope, a gallows and a good crowd watching will suffice. After their trial of course...for sedition and treason.

I am disappointed how little I read about the constitution here. It is the basis for all we used to be. Yet except for "favorite parts" like the 1st and 2nd. I don't see many here expounding the virtues of our founding document and wanting to get back to it.

All these cures folks have. When the real cure is what's been used to wipe the politicians and corporations/banksters asses. Our constitution!

I think you may have missed my point. Those goobers will say, or write, or pledge ANYTHING to regain power. They live in a constructed world of their own making, they revel in the possession and use of power, and can't get enough of the ass kissing that goes with their position. Right now, the liberals (and I despise they have that label, it means something far different) have been shoving everything from their socialist wish list down our gobs and guess what? People noticed! And it looks like they are going to get sent home in droves. Bashing repubs? I'll bash ANYBODY that wants to keep growing the federal government, making more and more inroads into the citizens life. You ought to have to use google and effort to find out what the fed has been doing lately. Not because they are hiding their actions, which they are quite good at, but because the role of the fed should be tiny. We have a 300 lb autistic 8 year old that we allow to make decisions that touch on every aspect of our lives. We have enough FEDERAL laws that NO ONE knows all of them, much less, what they say and mean. We have a tax code that has more loopholes than a carpet loom, used to control and direct and punish behavior somebody, sometime in the past thought was a bad idea. And this monster is expensive! It has no incentive to be efficient, on the contrary, it has protections built in that practically guarantee it can't be.
To sum it up, we have exactly the government we deserve. We have not educated our population, we have created an enormous horde that is dependent on government for their sustenance and we allowed them to vote. And I don't mean just the poor. Money talks and bullshit walks. That's my cue, I'll be lacing up my shoes now.

The chances are ALL THE TIME..these politicians havent gotten the message yet!
Your argument is the same one I've heard for the past 30 yrs..stick by the repubs to beat the dems..and you are falling for it again! Amazing! Do you work for the RNC?
The election of BHO is the best thing to happen to this country..only now is the country waking up to the evil he represents..that wont happen with more lukewarm republicants in office, people will just go back to sleep! The pussies that have run the so-called conservative movement need to step aside, time for REAL change..there will be pain all around but thats what motivates most people

Ultimately, the only way to fix this problem is to break this two party stranglehold on our goverment. We must get rid of career politications. It's possible, ask Mr. Bennett of Utah how that works.

L Haney,
I definitely did not miss your point, in fact, I agree with you. Your follow up post quoted here is spot on. I was trying to express the real world fact of life that when you step into the ballot box, you are going to have to choose who gets your vote. As an example of the choices available, look at the two pieces of excrement running for US Senate in Illinois. One comes from a family banking business that has been tied to making loans to the mob that he knew would never be paid back, but were covered by our tax money in the bailout schemes. The other candidate is a pro abortion, pro gun-control weasel who makes up stories about his military/veteran history. So what to do? Electing one helps the R's take back the majority in the Senate, electing the other helps the D's keep their power. There's your choice.

Oh well, like I said, I agree with you...

BTW, did you mean to phrase the last two sentences the way you did?

Electing RINOs, is the same as voting demo.

Gridlock is a strategy that will stop Obama in his grass hut for two more years, as the voting, "public lions", roar outside the gate, for jobs.

What I was trying to get across in those is that our gov is owned by the big money. Been that way for a very long time. All the little people (like me) can do is nip around their heels. If we ever draw blood (seriously threaten their collective position), the gloves will come off.
