View Full Version : Poverty Makes Gainful Strides

To me this story is about as important as 911, because it's going to get a lot worse. People do die from poverty, some need to, but not the ones it was forced upon. Some here recently opined it would take adding 1000.000 jobs a month for 6 years just to get back where we were 6 years ago. I would extrapolate a 30% poverty rate in 5 years if we keep on track like we are(health care reform, tax increases, red tape increases, redistribution of wealth ).The ex-president and his supporters should be proud of his legacy in the near future when our path to third world socialism is complete. November is not going to change anything, just the names to protect the guilty.

Gary - this has been going on for DECADES under BOTH R&D admins - thats a FACT - blaming one party or the other is a loser! they BOTH are bot and paid for by the bankers and special interests - until the majority of the country understands this we will remain mired in failure.

Unfortunately I'm way too old and do to know this stuff, starting with the war on poverty in my youth. America is now so dumbed down, it cannot be woken up or educated. I have family members with educations who can't be educated. I have a plethora of younger extended family( 15-40) who don't care , I have employees who have NEVER read a newspaper or watched a newscast__too boring. And on the same line, most are not paying taxes and never will. Only the "educated' are going to survive this with cunning and planning.
A new link tonight, still downplayed by MSM.
BTW Gates, I have learned a lot from your insights and postings .

why have you chosen to be a fear monger? you are a leader; people listen to you. spreading nonsense will only confuse those who follow you. it's almost like you are committed to failure when you continually disparage those element in our society from which workable solutions are apt to arise. what satisfaction will you get from "being right" about a total economic collapse when many of those you love and cherish die a tragic death? why not focus your attention on viable solutions and reforms and help lead the nation towards a recovery.
politics and economics and the source of our problems are a very, very complex web of details and interrelations. your oversimplifications are absurd and misleading.

Jokker - by and large, I apply Occam's Razor to these issues - no need to be verbose for the sake of being verbose - if it quacks, waddles and flys its a fuking duck!
As far as the other stuff - I call'em as I see them, I'm a builder not an economist I have stated this repeatedly - I don't come here to cheerlead or put a smiley face on a shit sandwich - if I see things changing for the better I will certainly post it, what I will NOT do is give people false hope.

Leave it to jokker to defend the fraud, corruption and incompetence of the Status Quo with verbosity.

J - People like Jokker are in the "we've seen this before, its a normal business cycle, vote for the lesser evil" camp - where we diverge is -" I don't think so" - I try VERY hard to keep tin out of my posts but I am pretty damn sure that whats coming down the pike is financial collapse and with it the very high likelyhood that our form of govt collapses with it- history has shown when a country collapses financially - all the way kabooms, not a run of the mill 1930's depression - you end up with a change of governmental style - more often than not a fascist type - NO ONE wants that including me but I fear we have already passed the event horizon. Now, having said that, it may take 20-30 more years of what we are going through now before the collapse happens... but I don't think so.

30+ years of buying public votes by shameless public officals have finally caught up with us. Giving the single blame to the past administration is fool hardy. Too much credit and no where near enough common sense for the past couple generations.
