China. Thanks to Congress and the CFL requirement, GE just closed its last light bulb plant in the US and laid off all the workers.
Nice job congress.

There is in my opinion a competitive aspect to be considered, would the profits from selling foreign made light bulbs be greater than the wages from jobs of manufacturing more exspencive US bulbs? I don't like GE.
Case in point, in the last 43 years I have had a problem with getting someone to have my babies and I'm now considering a overseas option,, my wife takes the dim protectionist view of my quandry and won't let me go, so importation is probably my only real option.

If a politician's mouth is open, they are lying.
Obummer's mouth is nearly ALWAYs open. Check the press, news, etc. It's true.
Green Jobs my butt. Maybe with foreign companies setting them up.
They won't be U.S. companies and probably not even jobs in this country.

Some once guarded properties that were sat on to accumulate interest are now freely given away if you can negotiate those damn pantyhose, my energy level, dexterity and attention span have age imposed limits.
Where'd Those Green Jobs Go?
They made room for the "shovel ready jobs",, 3/4's of a trillion worth,,, and the Republican minority are blocking the rest.

When the owner of Foxxcon was asked why he would not ever open a US plant. his reply was 'too many lawyers'

Foxxcon is the largest electronics contract manufacturer in the world.

He did say that with automation, he could make ipods etc CHEAPER in the US, but not when the taxes + lawyers were added in

Love that comment about Obumbler saying folks wanting enginges to say Made in America. Simple task, dissolve NAFTA (at least with one of those countries) and start slapping tariffs on imported goods. Of course he won't do the obvious tho.

Actually just making NAFTA countries not able to SUBSIDIZE what they import to the US would solve most of it.

The US is the only NAFTA country that cannot subsidize, Canada and Mexico both subsidize their imports to the US (Canada notoriously with lumber)

That and get rid of the Unions, which is the MAIN reason companies have left the US

Foxxcon used to have plants in USA at list until 2002 and it was one of the biggest supliers for Cisco router chassis. Few times I had to reject their production.
