Unfortunately it was us that got defeated. Cut n Run. He's now
concerned about the economy and the war in Iraq is a distraction
for him.

Wait, now he's concerned about the economy? Where has he been for the past 2+ years. Oh wait, he's been on apology tours and vacations. I'm sure he will focus on the economy like a laser beam, just like he did on jobs.

Thinking we can borrow our way back to prosperity seems a clever untried ploy to me. I still think a flattened Falujah was the way to go.

Every conflict has a assumed resolution. I think that the assumption here is that a South Korea like tranquility is achieved,,, the parallel does not exist. Our presence is the guarantor of eternal peace not our absence.
The USA was and is the trip wire in S.K.

I sure am glad that our US troops are out of harms way and that combat operations are over.

I'm thinking Middle Eastern Rules of Engagement will emerge once we are over the hill. Obama and Jimmy Carter are going to be outraged.

Now that combat is over in Iraq and everyone loves us there, couldn't some of those 50 thousand non fighting troops who are remaining there forever be brought home and be used to shore up the border. Maybe then the illegal alien population could be stabilized in the 10-20 million range. Can't spare em there? What about some from the 70K in Afghanistan, 50K in Germany, 30K in Japan, 30K in S Korea, 10K Italy, 10K GB? Ah hell, forget having a border! It's much nicer to have cheap lettuce and chicken parts.
