Sad.

We have had 3 cops shot here in Utah since Wednesday. One killed, they are searching the desert on the Utah/Arizona border for that killer. One shot while arresting a parolee (out after killing someone before); partners grabbed the shooter up before he could shoot again. One shot downtown by a recently returned Army vet (Afghanistan) dressed up in his full battle gear, including helmet and 7 extra mags (cop shot back and killed him).

That's a lot of cop shootings for us.

My first reaction was OK here's another early uncalled for demise that will leave tears of tragedy to a small family group,,, in 15 minutes another similar report will be brought to a large portion of the worlds attention.
Reporting today is worldwide and affecting our ability to respond with appropriate and genuine meaningful emotions, we oscillate between sorrowful and startled goosey. We become callus and inured to tragedy or remain in constant mourning in my opinion.
There was a time when reporting was regional, we call those the good old days.
I find it ironic that news media want to disarm us but also use paranoia and apprehension to sell news with as many details as they can relate making a means of self defense a sane imperative.
Witnesses have identified the killer, not much else needs to be done except put him out of other people's misery.
