Just mounted a Mueller 8.5-25x 50mm Eradicator scope on my sample 452 Varmint thumbhole .22 and had to share a pic!

Not my cup o' tea, but that is an impressive lookin' rifle! Going gnat hunting with all that glass? :D

I like the lam wood on that, much better than ole plain jane Birchwood or the like.

How's the trigger on the 452? I picked up a 550 recently with the set trigger and still get a big grin on my mug when I touch it off.

Beautiful CZ. I may have to own one of those CZ .22s( of some sort ) one of these days.

Beautiful rig..Im not a super big fan of thumbhole stocks but that one looks really nice..I had a CZ 22 with the Mannlicher stock and loved it...financial dificulties have forced me to sell alot of my stuff but someday I will own another CZ .22

I have a hard time with the stock as well - no matter how comfortable it may be, it just "looks wrong" to me. But they are fine rifles.

I had a sporter but since I was shooting mostly colibris I cut the barrel down to 16". Longer than that and the bullets would stick in the barrel. What's the barrel length on that one? Looks kindof long for .22LR.

21" barrel. And no, it is a 452, which does not have the set trigger. I dont understand why CZ did not use the 453 action... The scope is overkill, but just out of curiousity I want to shot at really small things far away. Its fun to when done shooting at a paper target to shoot the staples out and watch it fall.

CZ makes a 452 with a 16" barrel that is threaded for a suppressor.

Mark, that 21" Varmint is downright short when compared to the 452 Ultra Lux with a 28.6" barrel. :D

My 1983 Brno Mod 2 started out with a long barrel but now sports a 16 inch tube...makes a damn fine walk around bunny buster ...!!! I still remember the day I picked it up as a 14 year old..!!

I believe its been determined that after about 14.5" of barrel, legnth offers deminishing returns as all of the powder has been converted to gas at that point. Not sure, just saying.

Anyways, that is a damned fine looking rimfire. I love 22's, and that CZ of yours is just pretty.

is that an original stock or an aftermarket one. I have not seen a CZ with that style of thumb hole stock before.

It is a Boyds stock put on at CZ, and is a standard model available.

One of the things that keeps me going to CZ as my most likely next choice in a .22 is the fact they use milled steel receivers..I really liked my Savage .22 MarkII BV but it did have a tube receiver and a plastic triggerguard...always thought that Savage could do themselves a favor changing that
