Out of fairness, I really can't say much though.

This summer I took my wife and kids to Six Flags in Arlington, 2 museums (for one money) while we were there, my parents house for a week, and today the family is going to splurge on a trip to Putt-Putt and an all you can eat chinese buffet!

That's like 6 mini vacations!

I guess the difference is I worked 2 extra short term jobs to save the money. Of course this raised my tax bracket from poor to broke but at least I was able to help her relax from her stressful duties.

And if you think about it from the D.C. point of view; I really overdid the vacationing. You see, since my tax money helped her go on these vacations, a little piece of each of these vacations belongs to me. I'm even allowed to keep the photos from the newspaper so I can revel in all her fond memmories.

Thinking about it, between my 6 trips and her 10 trips, I got to take a total of 16 vacations this summer. It almost makes me want to do the patriotic act of paying even higher taxes so she can catch up to me.

Or maybe I'll just invite her to my parents house for rice and beans. No per diem necessary. Heck, we can even cruise the local Walmart clearance isles or even walk through the fruit and vegetable section, eating a little bit of everything before security chases us out of the store. If they have the nerve to arrest us we'll just claim we're on a taxpayer funded fact finding mission and they're racist.

Maybe it'll happen, maybe not!

That $273 per day cost is rediculous. There is no way in hell a secret service agent only cost that per day.That would be maybe a fraction of their take-home,after taxes.No where near actual cost.

That's just their per diem - what they get for hotel and meals. It's set by DOD (off CONUS - CONUS is set by OPM). It doesn't count their salary or any of that.

This modest little junket has cost the American People well over a million bucks at the least just in logisitcs alone.

The $375,000 estimate quoted is simply the "first class travel equivalant " billing rate used for reimbursement estimation.

The Obamas are a on a permanent vacation and are pretty much committted to living as high on the hog for as long as possible on the taxpayers money.

If they are not traveling like Nouveau Riche Royalty or hitting the golf links, they are partying down with several hundred of their closest friends at the White House dining on $100+/lb imported ( American beef is not good enough and most of it comes from Red States) Kobe style Wagyu beef steak, escargot and premium booze.

There is an old Southern term for this kind of behavior but I am far too polite and anti racist to use it. It sure does seem to fit in this case.

It's permanent party time and a left wing version of Animal House where some of the Animals for sure more equal than others and the American People are the less equal others

We should be concerned about this but lets face it- the more time they spend on vacation, the less time they have to screw up our country. I am also pretty sure they can do far less damage if they stay dead drunk or stoned than they can if they stay stone cold sober.

1. Her daughter could have a little experience in staying in an another country.

2. Her duaghter's ten year old friend wanted to have her tenth birthday in
spain - every little ten year old girls wants that.

3. Her firends father, a GYN doctor, died earlier this year and her friend felt sad so Machelle took her to Spain to cheer her up.
