Obama's mongrel remark...

Of all the web sites I peruse, I have noticed that not much (a little, but not much) had been posted about Obama's comment that blacks are a mongrel people. I thought the racists of both sides would be all over this. When are they going to stop this guy from running his mouth without a teleprompter. Imagine if Bush, or any white, had made a remark like this. I jsut don't understand how this can go on.

It was not the best choice of word to use, but not really offensive either.

It seems he's not really proud of his black heritage, but if that particular bus get's him to where he wants to go, he's happy enough to ride it.

The words we use are a insight into what we think, Obama has made a living using words that were assembled for a specific purpose, the use of some words can be detremental to some purposes.
A mongrel sitting on the top of the Alpha dog heap thinks he's hybred and should therefore be replicated, if he can't eat it he screws it.

Actually, that might be one of the LEAST offensive things Obummer has said.
I consider myself a mutt/mongrel based on my family tree. I'm no Aryan, pureblood, etc.
Just a typical American WAS. Sorry, no P on the end. Not because I wasn't baptized that way though. English, Irish, Dutch, ???. Add a bit of French to my kids and they are messed up than I am. They never seemed to mind, much.:wink:
For Obummer to MAKE such a statement is surprising. I'm afraid he may make more points with the Right than the very thin skinned Left by saying that.

The word was spoken from an educated socialist mouth........... so it is NOT used in a derrogatory or racist context. The double standard about WHO says what word is definitely in play here, and quite frankly I DONT CARE anymore about WHO says WHAT until the double standard is ELIMINATED !!!!!!!!!!!! Not in MY lifetime. I can see the hypocrisy and make note.......... "Political Correctness" and "diversity" for diversities sake is the Achilles Heel.

After all, I am sure that word was used MANY times by the late Sen. Byrd in his younger days at them meetings he was having. :wink:
