Yup Obama gutted the Arizona law and made it illegal for Arizona to enforce it until the 'court' (aka a Clinton appointee) finishes their 7 cases against it.

Obama did that? What are you smoking? It was Judge Susan Bolton that did that....

And, you think Obama didn't 'get' to her?? Come on. You are smarter than that.

THIS has the potential to get REAL ugly. This law is favored by 65% of all America, last I heard. That 65% will remember this come November and their wrath better be felt by their incumbents.

Hell and be damned the incumbent politicians may not have overturned this--but the people will be heard.

This has the potential to start another Civil War.

Well, thanks for your confidence in my intellect, and I suppose it's possible you may be right. Call me naive, but it didn't occur to me that's what John was getting at with his post. I'll retract the "what are you smoking" comment...

She neutered the law, but as consolation prize the illegals cannot solicit work in public places. If this portion could go nationwide it would be a start. I've gotten to where I avoid Home Depot .

I think another 19 states have similar or identical legislation pending. And Ricketts is right, Obama / Clinton either got to her or controls her directly.

Supposedly thrown out on wording:

So reword it, re-pass it, re-sighn it, give it to a different judge.

This is from judgepedia.com:
"On the recommendation of U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, Bolton was nominated to the United States District Court for the District of Arizona by President Bill Clinton on July 21, 2000 to a seat vacated by Robert Broomfield. Bolton was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 3, 2000 on the unanimous consent of the Senate and received commission on October 13, 2000."

So, in addition to Kyl, she probably had the support of McCain as well. It won't be necessary, but I'm sure Juanni will be along shortly to remind us that the Dems and Repubs are two sides of the same coin...

no she blocked that portion as well

The judge also delayed parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places.

one or both are already in SF addressing the ninth. the ninth may issue a stay or not, hear it themselves and then it goes to the supremes. in my non legal opinion it's going as both parties expected all along. still, congrats to AZ for bringing it to the table where 70% of the country has given the law it's blessing.

Not to worry though, that fresh batch of incoming conservative republicans and Jon Kyle in the Senate will fix Obama's wagon with serious border enforcement, withhold Fed funds from sanctuary cities, employer penalties and MORE!!!!

You just wait and see.

How can you not but admire a "justice" system that sets out to get a pre-determined result and accomplishes it?

Which accredited law school is not run by a liberal academic, with a liberal interpreted curriculums. Believing what one was taught is sacrosanct relieves the conscience of the burden of truth. The best interest of the country has little or no standing in the legal systems.

This has the potential to start another Civil War. Doubtful, most Americans are fat, dumb, and happy with their endless sports choices, reality televison, fast food, gangsta rap, and Nintendos. ONLY thing that is is likely to start a civil war is a large portion of the working public to have no jobs and start losing the above mentioned "rights" because they can't afford them.

And it works like this---

Illegal = loss of American Worker jobs.

Gonna get worse with this Government approval.

Gonna get worse with this Government approval. Doubtful that any Operation Wetback or kicking migrants out so Americans can have jobs during the Depression will happen any time soon. Too many trust fund bleeding hearts now. Rome did well to sedate their masses with their colleseums, hippodromes, endless festival days, and free bread handouts until the Barbarians were at the gates and by that time it was too late. Out career politicians have learned well from their Roman predecessors. Unfortunately the unwashed masses have not, and they (the politicians) know it. That's how they keep getting reelected.

Possibly. But, I don't think the general population will quite as incensed with the administration over this as they will be when they start to file their income taxes next year, discover all the neat surprises Obama and his congressmen got passed this year, and realize they'll be paying-in instead of getting a check from the treasury.

IMHO not even here would 1 out of a hundred would show up at a civil war.

I have seen soooo many conflicts right here with varying degrees of absolute absence of common sense it boggles the mind, not to mention the whiners and criers that beat their breast at the drop of a hat...

This is, though, the greatest challange of states rights over federal rights in years and years.. and the people in power in Washington and the Obama Administration in particular will not let this go unchallenged.

Does this mean that state police should not pursue anyone who committed a federal crime? I guess that would give more than a three minute window to rob a post office.
