Hello,

Recently picked up Blake Stevens Book published by Collector grade Publications.
Slowly working my way through the 800 + pages of good stuff.
Can anyone point me to the section on decoding Aussie serial numbers, is there a list of numbers ?
My lower has AD62----- series number, which means 1962, but who made it ?

The Skennerton S.L.R. book has all of the serial numbers in it. Australia made all of the Aussie SLRs, I am assuming you really want to know who they made it for. An AD62 series could have been built for any of 10-12 countries at the time, the full serial number would be needed to get more specific. However pretty much all of the Aussie kits that have been available in the past and especially most recently are from the country of Malaya. Even if you have a lower that is in a serial number range for an Australian SLR it most likely was given to Malaya or some other country and never used by Australia. Australia dumped all of their surplus rifles into the ocean.
