What can any members tell me about a 2340 Sig is it a pistol that I should stay away from? You hear very little about them.

In my opinion, the Sigpro series are some of the most under-rated pistols out there.
The 2340 has been discontinued, and is now the 2022. The 2009 (9mm) and 2340 (40&357 Sig) are the first rendition of the Sigpro series.....the newer 2022 designation is used for all 3 calibers.
The only substantial difference between the 2340 and 2022 is the type of light rail.
The Sigpro has suffered from poor marketing, and is the reason you here little about them....Sig is way to busy doing the "gun of the week" thing with all the high dollar bling pieces.
I have owned several 2340's..........all were flawless in function and exhibitted typical Sig accuracy.
I have altered my collection, and that is the only reason for getting rid of the 2340's.
BUT, I do have two 2022's. Both in 40, and one is a pretty rare two-tone.........just shot one of them yesterday............sweeeeeeet.

They will never replace my 229's.........but they sure complement the collection.
Go to Sigforum and read from all the happy owners:love:
