There are variations in legs, plunger length, plunger style, screws, and castle nuts.

G1 screw heads being more domed and flush with the bottom of the clamshell. No rollers on G1 types.

STG has longer, flatter head screws that accept the castle nuts. Has rollers too.

Seems like I have seen a few pics of G1 bipods that also have castle nuts, don't know if it was a retro fit or not.

So original issue G1 uses plunger system and no castle nuts? Cool.

I find it hard to believe, but I've read here that the factory G1s had the screws mashed, no castle nuts. When the G1s kits first came into USA I thought the Turks had lost the nuts and mashed the screws, but I've been told I'm wrong.

So I checked an original parts drawing, and indeed- no castle nuts. Then I checked some photos of a real Type C G1, and it is apparent that the bipod is not an original (it has the fence and rollers).

So unless somebody has proof otherwise, it does appear that the G1s did not have castle nuts.
