Ratworx and PJ's Investments are the two places I know of carrying factory Steyr mags. Ratworx was getting $30 and $33 for the 30 and 42 rounders, respectively. PJ's was either $35/40 or $40/45. I've ordered from both and either is fine to deal with.
If you feel like trying MSAR brand mags, Ratworx was running a sale on them at around $13 each, may still be going.

Be careful with the mags you use. The Steyr AUG A3 requires a US magazine (body, follower, and baseplate) to be 922r compliant. If the US made AUG mags aren't available, go with the MSAR mags. The Ratworx sale runs through the end of the year.

Where did you hear that? The A3 I got came with 2 mags that were both Austrian made mags, identical to the mags I have for my A1. This was straight from the factory.

Did you read the quoted e-mails? They *were* from Steyr.

Yes but I own an A3 from "Steyr" and it has 2 Austrian mags with it. And the link you provided was not from Steyr. It was a link from AR15.com quoting a link from Steyr. I've found ar15.com to be of dubious relaibility in the past. So, Im a bit curious to find out what the answer is...

This was discussed on another list as well with the same information. Go ahead and call Steyr; I'd love to hear what they say. It could be that their parts count has changed, but as of when the thread started on ARFcom, the data was accurate.

The mags that are shipped with the rifle may be fine, they might have a US follower, base plate, or body, but 100% Austrian mags are likely to put you in violation of 922r compliance.
