Had me surprised there for a second when your thread title said "CMMG has MSARs on sale."

I was wondering why CMMG would be carrying STGs until I read the post which changes it to CDNN.

Sarge, you may want to edit that again, I just downloaded the flyer,it's $1999 not $999. $999 seemed awful low:rolleyes:

I'm looking at the ad right now. It says 999.99 No sights

I'm having a hard time seeing the beauty of this weapon. Is it a great functioning ugly duck?

I stand corrected then, downloadable flyer had em at $1999. That's a hell of a deal,if you've got the $$$

It's for the guy that does not like the standard sight. Slap an ACOG or something like that on it.

I can't find it right now, but they have the newest downloadable catalog available. (I got it by e-mail from them, they have my 03ffl on file) It showed the rail model in green, black or sand for $999 and the limited edition model for $1699.

You might want to check w/ Ratworx also. They have STG556 gen IV w/ 5 30rds mags and a side rail for $1050- 16" or 20" barrel, optics ready. Or w/ OEM scope for $1100.

CDNN only comes w/ one 10 rds mag, not sure about side rail- but w/ no CC fee.

never even held one so this might be a dumb question, does anyone shoot them with irons?

They come stock with a no magnification scope, and my other option would be a red dot?

I like red dots as back up.

Can i put irons on this bad boy ?

Holy resurrection of an old thread Batman!

Don't be afraid to start a new thread of your own! You got me all excited thinking there was a sale by dogpiling on an old thread with a question completely unrelated to a sale.

Now, for your question, yes some do put iron sights of one form or another on their bullpups, such as the STG. However doing so is really only to help those folks sleep better at night. The sight radius is so short on an AUG style weapon that using iron, polymer, or aluminum sights is really not an optimal idea. This is one weapon on which those things should really only be considered as true backups.

Iron sights would not bring out the true potential of such a rifle configuration. If you try it, I would suggest you don't spend too much money on your choice of iron sights unless you have use for them on a different rifle after you discover that optics are the best choice on an AUG or STG. Kind of one of the reasons that Steyr built these things originally with the optic/carry handle already on 'em. Now with the rails, you get to choose your own flavor of optic.

But good luck to you anyway if you decide to still use iron as your primary sight on a bullpup.
