So, now that prices have come down, I am thinking about a MSAR STG. Probably one with the factory optic. Anything that I should be thinking about before I do?

I love mine and I paid $500 more than prices I have seen these days. I say go for it. Buds Gun Shop in KY has railed versions for $982 and scoped ones for $1,088. I used to shoot at their range when I lived in KY and they seemed like nice folks.

When they were around $2k, they weren't that interesting to me. Now that they are $1k, they have begun to get that way.

16 inch. you don't need the 20. 16 is plenty accurate. that puts you at 29 inches long.

The E4 model, which is going for about $300 more, also takes the AR mags, so you can share between rifles if you already have the poodle gun.

If I hadn't bought a Steyr A3 in September, the price on the MSAR's nowdays would have me buying one. The off-brand didn't interest me at $1,500 and up, but now they're getting realistic.

BTW, the STG556 mags are now on sale until Jan 1st 2010.

$13.50 each for 42 rds mags. Buy five or more and free shipping.

The 30 and 20 are little cheaper.

I just ordered 10 42 rds amber mags. W/ some mod, I am sure you can get it to work in Steyr AUG.

Call Ratworx to order at this price, since it is not shown on the web.

Aren't the 42rd mags suspected to cause feed problems?

First I've heard of it. I have three that haven't given me any problems.

Guess I better order some then. I only have a 10 and a 30 rounder right now.

I just bought an E4, it's on it's way to my FFL.

I'll post a report for you guys when I unbox it. I was saving for an ACR but the deal (1300 for railed, 1350 with optic) was too good to pass up, so I blew my ACR wad on it.
