A new one for your viewing pleasure.

I have always said that getting into S&W revolvers is unholy.

It's sitting by the wrong book, then.

It's ugly (but truly un-holey, although no Mark of the Beast) black cousin.

S&W's are like FAL's and Hi Powers; addicting to no end.

So what exactly is the main difference between that customized 666 and a 2 1/2" bbl 686 with a round butt?

I believe that the 686 is on a L Frame and the 66 is on a K Frame. I do not know if the 686 is ported as the 66-6 is.

The 686 is an L frame, the 66-6 is a K frame (slightly smaller). Grips are interchangeable, but most holsters aren't. Speed loaders aren't interchangeable either.

There were a few versions of the "Mag Comp"made in the 686 series. 2 1/2" or 3" ported barrels, 6 or 7 shot.

Vince's 66-6 "F Comp" and my 19-7 "K Comp" are production pieces from the Smith & Wesson Custom Shop, as are the aforementioned 686's. They are genuine factory-made (although limited production) items.

Mine shoots like a house afire! :uhoh: Literally if you hold it too close.
