On the Calguns website there is a DSA FAL for sale. The owner says the 10 round magazine is pinned in place, not spot-welded. Is he correct when he states you no longer spot-weld California magazines in place, that they are pinned now?

As a Cali ex-pat the law reads that it requires a tool to remove the mag.

The mag is held in place by the Mag release....if you unscrew the pin that hold that and the bolt release/hold open and pull it half way out you can drop out the mag..there is a very small ball of weld on the ejector block that keeps the mag release from moving forward.......you can find 20 round mags that have a block inside and the floor plate has been welded shut and replace the 10 round for a proper look.

To those that posted thanks, but I still want to here from a DSA rep. Are the current rifles for California sales pinned or welded magazines?
