i suspected there was something missing from the picture.

does anyone have any comparison between this stock and the comparable ACE skeleton folding stock?

ACE makes good stocks, don't get me wrong but I would prefer an original Para-type stock if I am setting up a FAL with a skeleton folder. I like the original stock a great deal. It is rugged, functional, and just looks right on a Para FAL.

OK, i'm placing the last order on this build
all i need is the locking shoulder and the folding stock
i want this to be the last order because shipping aint cheap - especially at DSA

so the only things i need are:
para pivot block connecting screw - P096 - http://www.dsarms.com/PARA-Pivot-Block-Connecting-Screw-----P096/productinfo/P096/ - like Mosin Guy said, and
the folding stock assembly - P120USSTK - http://www.dsarms.com/FAL-PARA-Trooper-Folding-Stock-----P120USSTK/productinfo/P120USSTK/

right?

i'm assuming the folding stock assembly includes all the pieces and parts shown in the PARA SCHEMATIC (http://www.dsarms.com/SA58-FAL%20Squematic%20PDF.pdf) other than the connecting screw?
meaning parts number:
90,93-106?

the description of the folder assembly leaves a bit to be desired

Don't forget the bolt carrier and springs. The easiest thing to do is order one of the conversion kits DSA offers on this page:

http://www.dsarms.com/SA58-FAL-PARA-Parts-Accessories/products/18/

Then you can swap back and forth easier if you want to build that up as a second complete lower.

I don't have any info. I get updates as batches of different items become available so they may tell me before they are ready to ship. If so I will post here.

Thanks!

Does the DSA Para stock still break when you swing it open without depressing it first?

Any Para stock can be damaged by improper handling. You can see this very well on guns that DSA takes to events such as SHOT. It is common for passers by to grab a rifle off the rack and before they can be assisted often force the stock past the knuckle without properly depressing it. Over time that grinds down the surface and has to be replaced.

I'm a little fuzzy on the whole PARA thing - I have a regular SA58 Carbine, can I just buy the folding stock or would I need this ~$400 kit to make it work?

You will need the kit to make one work.
Totally different internal set up as the recoil springs in your carbine are housed in the buttstock, the recoil springs for a para are in the bolt carrier and upper receiver and are all held together by the top cover as a unit.

Gotcha, thanks.

Why isn't the Hampton lower one of the choices for the para kit assembly package?

John, any idea why the Hampton lower is not one of the choices for the para kit assembly package?

Also with the Hampton on the STG, can you still use the original front sight, or should it be changed out for optimal use?

Hampton upgrade is $70 but it would have to be called in, because its a custom order.

I do not know if the sight will need to change you will have to find out at the range.

Sighting on FALs is not typical

Thanks
