OK, I want a trigger that is made with a steel bow and some type of metal shoe, long reach, preferably not one of those light weight triggers but I'm open on that. The thing I can't find is a trigger with cutouts, but not round holes (one that looks like the cutouts have been machine cut, instead of just 3 holes drilled). The only one I've seen so far is by STI, and when I ordered one, Brownell's sent me one with a plastic shoe. Any help with any other cool triggers that fit my needs??

Anything here that inspires you?

Hard to find a 1911 trigger other than solid and three hole types. I drilled two more holes (smaller) in my 3-holer, just to be different. :D

How about this one (from the site which Mainer posted):

Sometime about 1983-84 I used a Videki match trigger with the 3 holes in an aluminum shoe. I scribed a line across the inside and, outside edge of the three holes, stuck a jewelers saw through the top hole and, with the trigger vised up, cut out the material between the holes. Cleaned up the inside of the new slot with a needle file and then, painted the inside of the slot with flat black testors for that dramatic effect. I still have that pistol. I'll see if I can get some pics later.

Nighthawk (http://www.nighthawkcustom.com/detail.aspx?ID=71) sells a similar looking trigger - check them out

the Nighthawk looks pretty cool, and I have checked them out before, I've just never heard of anyone who has used their parts. Anyone know anything about NighthawK?

SVI/Infinity has exactly what you are looking for:

Nighthawk is nice stuff but most of it is someone else's gear made for them. They are a bunch of guys who used to work for Wilson Combat & went out on their own. Nice folks to boot.

I dunno if this would fit, or if you can find one, but it looks nice, and has an adjustable stop. Sometime later they changed to plastic.
Original (slightly thinned in front) Colt GC trigger.

The Gold Cup trigger is not compatible with other 1911's. The trigger face is wider than a conventional trigger.

I just got an email from Brownells saying that they got back the old plastic shoe trigger and sent me the Aluminum STI model - I think, it was hard to decipher their message. So, for now, it looks like the STI will be the winner.

Thanks Mark! I knew I wasn't a 1911 mechanic...
Best luck with that STI tracyballard, that's a neat looking trigger.
