View Full Version : Garand shoots low

My garand is consistently shooting 8 inches low( at 100yds) with the rear elevation bottomed out, no more room to move. This makes me think that I need to file the front sight down to correct. Before I break out the needle files, is this a correct assumption and are there any alternatives??
Thanks for any thoughts or opinions!

Well come UP 8 clicks. Two of my 3 Garands are dead on at 100 with 8 clicks, the other one needs 12.

what he said. That is NORMAL for a garand or '14 8 from bottom is about perfect.

Them thar Di-gestable sights might help some..
Few clicks rear elevation and you should be fine..
I had two M1's that needed 20+ clicks to get my POI right.. Over several range trips with both rifles I gradually filed the FT sights until I was in the black @ 100 yards with 6-8 clicks from the btm.... ;)
