Hey everybody, I've got this .257 Roberts rifle that I don't know much about, I inherited it from an uncle who past and I've got a few thoughts on it. It says Ranger Arms, Gainsville, TX on it. It also has 257 and a serial number 3XXX, but there is no model or anything to look up on it. It has a Leupold VARI-X III 3.5x10 scope on it. The gun is in Exellent condition and has hardly any scratches or marks. I have pictures here, and it is a beautiful gun with the custom stock, but I believe that somebody rebulit it with a custom stock. Have a look at the pictures and post what you think.

Thanks!

Just did a google search and came up with this Blue Book explanation. It sounds like they only made a few rifles before ending operations in the '70's. Take a look at this link. It also gives you an idea of it's values.

XxWinxX94,

Just found a book link to an article about the manufacturer. Check it out....

It is very detailed. Your rifle may actually be a full factory rifle. They did make mannlicher style rifles. In fact, I found one that is made in a birdseye maple mannlicher thumbhole stock. Prices seem to a good bit higher for these than stated in the Blue Book Article.
