have any of you changed out your M-1A flash hider for either brand of muzzle break?
I'm thinking of using my M-1A super match in a MBR match at my club at the end of the month (I know - it is heavy - but why not try it for giggles, I think), and was wondering how they work.
thanks

I bought a Smith Break and seems to work really well. The one I got was the coast guard model which is supposed to help on muzzle jump the best. Not cheap but seems to be a good design

I noticed a large reduction in muzzle jump and felt recoil when shooting a bush rifle with a SEI coast guard brake and shooting a full sized M1A with a USGI flash hider. The people next to me on the firing line did not care too much for the SEI muzle brake however, they made some snide comments to the range master, who told them "too bad", they left in a hurry.

The last couple of times I went to the range all the idiots with the large bore rifles with the breaks on them seem to park right on both sides of me. Soooooooo the next time I brought the M1A just for that reason. I dont mind breaks but when on both sides of you and down the line time after time its time for some payback. They didnt care for the rate of fire (not rapid fire just controlled fire) and the muzzle blast of the M1A when it was my turn. But it does work pretty good:]
