It *looks* to be in pretty good shape, little sign of wear, cocking handle looks like new, top cover looks new, not much sign of ejection marks. Hoping to get this one back to its former glory, so GPG here I come... :).

Paid 670 for it which wasn't too bad. There was another in 'new unfired' condition, but the guy had a reserve of $1200 on it, so (cough..choke...) I passed on that one.

Nice one! Considering how some people are paying over 500 for just the Imbel receiver, I think you did quite well.

Those were some of the better guns Century made. Goes to prove there are some good deals out there. Sure beats a $600 Wasr. GARY N4KVE

congrats!

I just picked this up on GB about a month ago - I don't know how I managed to pay only $520 for it. I guess nobody was paying attention :) Anyway, It shoots like a champ, feeds well, and should look great when all of the parts I ordered get here to convert it back to all wood. It had an Aussie laminated wood handguard painted black. The paint came off without much fuss, but the handguards don't match. Pity. Anyway, I'll post a photo when it's done. You oughta do the same.

A curious thing about mine . . .
As you can see in the phots, the magazine is an incher, although the receiver is, of course, metric (It's not marked like yours, so I don't know if it's argie or Imbel). So the magazine was modified (front cath removed, and a metric "dimple" punched out in front) so that it fit the metric mag well. Did yours come with one of these? I was just curious if this was normal Century thing.

Need to see the receivers right side view to tell what it is.
Argies have the markings & serial # on the right rear about the last 2" of the receiver.

The markings are located in the same places as MalcS's, with the serial # on the right mag well.

Congrats to you too!

I'm making progress here:

The butthole stock has been replaced, refurbed evil Brit maranyl furniture is what she will be wearing. Compliance parts are either here or on the way, and she is getting an appointment to have her 5 slot FH reattached in the approved manner.

Couldn't resist snagging a bayonet as well....

My receiver is cut for INCH mags, although metrics seem to fit fine.

The seller forgot to ship the mag, it will be here tomorrow. I'm predicting it will be inch, but I don't know....waiting with baited breath...

Here it is with the "original" (when I got it) handguards, with the black paint stripped and replaced with Linseed oil:

The buttstock, from Numrich, is in rather rough shape. I'll see if it cleans up a bit with some steel wool, and maybe try to iron out the dents. But itt sure beats the butthole!:fal:
