I went to my local gun shop, where I am famous for buying something at least 50% of the time I visit. I intended on checking to see if I could talk down the price on a Century Butthole stock FAL that I have held off on due to the $800+tax price tag. It hasn't moved for months.

I walked in, looked over at the AK/AR section, and spied a odd looking thumbhole stock rifle.

I had to know what it was... After I asked to see the rifle, I could see that it was definitely a Daewoo DR-200.

I said, "Cool, I've never seen one first hand." I was suprised by the condition it was in... Nearly untouched, except for a small scrath on the accessory rail. Then I saw the price...

$699. I knew they went cheap, but really, this cheap for a high quality rifle?

I couldn't resist... It had been up for only 3 days according to the attendant, which made me consider my options: Buy it now or tomorrow. Needless to say, I couldn't let a fine weapon like this find it's way into someone else collection. I put $300 down on it today, and will pay it off in a week.

So, did I do good? Also, how easy are the ACE folding stocks to install? Is cheapo wolf and barnaul safe/advisable to put through it?

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to blasting something with it.

You got a good deal. I just bought one for 750 and it was a decent deal considering prices today. We need some pictures though.

Thanks guys. I'll put some pics up as soon as I pay her off.

They do have a chromed bore, right? Do you feed it wolf, or only brass?

I shoot my brass reloads through mine, but I don't think there would be anything wrong shooting wolf. Sometimes wolf is a little underpowered so you may need to adjust the gas setting.

Just make sure you shoot 55 gr ammo in it. It has a twist of 1:12 so the heavier ammo will tumble & put keyhole slots in the target. That could be good for messing up the bad guys though. LOL. GARY N4KVE

You sure about that? Everything I hear about them is that they have a 1:7.3 twist rate, so heavier stuff will work well.

EDIT: Nevermind, I just educated myself on the differences betweek a K2 and DR-100/200. I only really use 55grn stuff anyway, but now I'll make sure to keep it that way. Thanks for the info.

Personally, the cheapest I would use in it is Prvi or Federal brass, no steelcased crap to beat it up or build up melted lacquer. It's a unique item since they will no longer be imported, ever, not like a generic AR you can just replace...

YMMV.

Does anyone know if the DR-200 bore is chrome lined? I haven't seen a straight answer anywhere. I know the K2 is, but is the DR-200?

It's getting really hard for me to not just put the money down now and stop waiting...
