View Full Version : NZ buttstock paint markings??

April 30, 2009, 13:49
I am finishing up re-doing the paint that was marked on the buttstock of my NZ build. I should have taken a picture of it damn it. Do any of you guys know what was marked on these?? It was a long off-white stripe, top and bottom of the butt, and marrked with letters near the receiver and numbers near the buttplate. I think the letters were RR. PP or DD maybe. They were handwritten. Any pics, any info??

Hello alot of times a white stripe means drill purpose . Were the letters marked on it maybe DP. Thanks EX1

It could have been DP, like I mentioned in my post above. I can't remember, but DP could have been it. Would the number near the buttplate have just been a rack number then??

Also, if a Drill Purpose rifle, what would they have been used for?? Shot little, carried a lot in march??
