30 shots, I assume? Tell us more about the rifle and the "plinker" class - I don't know anything about BR competition...

Yes, tell us more!

I won the yearly Mesa varmint hunter club 500 yard shoot a couple of years in a row with a 7mm Sendero, the guy that came second both times was shooting a 17 Remington VS!

this is my first time shooting competition br. the only other competion i have been involved with is nra service rifle high power.

usbr is a sanctioned rimfire discipline firing twentyfive shots for score (on 25 targets) in twenty minutes. (toatal of twenty eight targets/page)

there is no restriction on sighters and three sighting targets are on each target page.

there are four classes: plinker , sporter, custom, and unlimited.

the plinker class has no weight or stock restrictions like the others.

plinker has a scope restriction of 9X power. the kicker for plinker class is its a "claimer class" for $200. the plinker class to eliminate the equipment race.

the other classes have weight and stock restrictions.

the plinker records are broken regularly with super high dollar rifles but the scores are not submitted because of the claimer rule.

the rifle i have been shooting is a savage 93R17 FV with a Mueller MT 852544 and leupold rings. the rifle cost 179 and the scope was 159 ish.

looks like they upgraded my name to the record with the old previous score.

That's OK - now you have an excuse to go shoot again! Good luck -
