View Full Version : Help! I need to find a rear sight!

I recently acquired a CAI L1A1 with a Imbel receiver. It appears the previous owner (actually the person before the previous owner) completely removed the rear sight to make way for the B-Squared scope mount with a cheapo scope.

Is there anyone that has any idea were I can find a complete replacement sight?

Also, I have read that these are actually Imbel metric receivers on inch patterned lowers. Ok, so if I were to buy a replacement stock, is it all inch pattern stock set or ?? Is the barrel also inch pattern?

if an inch lower is on it you need an inch stock assembly and inch pistol grip assembly..also takes inch h/t/s....

Ok, so that would be completely inch, buttstock, pistol grip and handguard then right? I understand that the fire control group would be all inch as they are in an inch receiver.

Thanks! That is what I needed to know. I am looking to buy one of the Ironwood stocks for it.

Thanks! That is what I needed to know. I am looking to buy one of the Ironwood stocks for it.

The handguard can be whatever fits the upper - it's just that the inch LOWER requires its own style stock and pistol grip.

I have a complete rear sight assembly w/ the detent "Z" spring and 2 sight adjustment screws.

Price is $38.00 shipped for all.
Add $2.00 (optional) to insure.

Hurray! My rear sight (et all) and top cover has arrived from Gun Parts Guy! Cleaned the grease off of it and stuck it on, very pleased!

Of course I sent the upper and barrel off to Magnum Gunsmithing to re-thread the barrel, so I cant see it all in one piece yet though :)

Oops, make that sight and top cover from GunThings.com and new Aussie pistol grip and gas regulator from Gun Parts Guy . Both excellent sources for FAL/L1A1 parts!

BTW: Is it uncommon to see a cracked gas regulator?
