View Full Version : CZ550 in new clothes

Picked up my CZ 550 varmint from Joel Russo this morning. The factory stock was kind of hard to get comfortable with so I opted for one of his A5Lís. He added pillars and bedded it. The finish is a satin (semi) gloss finish since it will be my working gun. He will definitely get my business again, next time it will be one of the exotic African wood A5Lís. Sorry for the crappy pics they donít do the stock justice.

While that particular color combo isn't 'zactly my cuppa tea, I
really do like the looks of that stock.
Does this man have a website? Can you provide a link?

How long have you been shooting the 550?

The 550 Tactical trigger has a bad history, just curious about your experience with your Varmint trigger. I don't know if it's the same as the Tactical trigger.

One thing is for sure... that's a beautiful rifle!

it has a great trigger. i bought this from Mparrish of the files here and IIRC he had the trigger done by a BR shooter in oregon. it breaks like glass, no creep, over travel nothing and with the new stock finally fits great.

Awsome Stock! I have a Browning A-Bolt in 300 win mag that needs a new stock and I have been looking at Richard's Microfit's selection. The factory synthetic is just a tad bit to light for my liking, just ask my shoulder. I want a thumbhole sporter stock either in their Forest camo or their Autum Leaf laminate. I have already bead blasted the barreled action and I am getting ready to park and gun kote it in flat gray. The bolt shroud and trigger guard I am doing in grey Alumihyde II to match the barreled action. All I can say is Joel does great stock work. It has definitely inspired me.....

give him a call, he can take two different stock designs and blend them plus he has all the major synthetic tactical and BR stocks available in the wood of your choice. he CNC's the inletting and then cuts the stock around it for the best fit.

edited because my grammar sucks.......especially after i have been drinking
