View Full Version : DSA is accepting orders for Type III receivers!
March 20, 2009, 07:37
Based on the responses to my inquiry about the level of interest in type III receivers, DSA will be doing a limited run of 100 units, carry handle cut. DSA will begin taking orders today. ETA is about two months out. I am not sure when we will run them again, so if you have been waiting now is your chance! Call DSA directly at (847) 277-7258 to order.

John, I was wondering why they couldn't make some of them NON handle cut. Would it not involve just skipping a step? I'm just curious, not agitating.

I called and ordered three of them today, two for me and one for a friend who didn't have a credit card available.
While I was completing the order, I heard the other sales rep in the background taking an order for four of them.
That's seven sold in a span of less than 15 minutes.
Thanks to DSA for listening to us members (I know I posted in the past about wanting a Type III after production halted on them), and offering these receivers at a very good price.

They would probably sell more than 100 too.

I'd be more interested in a Type 3 with no CHC. I would like to see the internal sand cuts included in the Type 3 for reliability even though it is not strictly historically accurate.

Anything is possible down the road. Right now I suspect the political situation is more of a threat to future receiver options that anything else. DSA has ramped up capacity quite a bit. It is hard to tell right now just because there has been such a giant flood of new orders. The goal was to be able to support receiver sales independent of rifle production early this year.

I called DSA today and was told that none of the Type III receivers are available as of today. Any idea when any upper recievers will become available again.

I am told these are approximately three weeks out at this point.
Before I call and clog up the lines, are we still on schedule?

Well I talked to a guy named Don this afternoon and he told me that DSA type 3 receivers are about 4-5 months out. And they have not started production yet. Sad news as I thought these would atleast be ready by the end of summer but alas the waiting game continues

Into storage the TIII para goes next to the G1 kits...

Don is wrong 3 weeks till they ship maybe sooner there almost done. Also they still have a few open spots for them.
June 17, 2009, 10:50
So john are we close to shipping these receivers or close to starting production? The suspense is killing me.

Set backs have caused lots of delays 3 weeks longer at least. People have waited over a year for the INCH type its only been 3 months since the Type III statement and they'll by all shipped by the end of July.
